Individualized support and skills development
At the FHM, we not only provide you with scientifically sound knowledge, but also offer you a protected environment in which to develop yourself and learn how to think and act in an economic and entrepreneurial way. This is what we call a “competency-based university” – all teaching at the FHM is aimed at making you professionally and academically capable, and thus fit for the challenges of the working world. What others only slowly acquire through professional experience after graduation, we give you during your studies.
Professional.Skills
This refers to professional expertise. We provide our students with the technical knowledge that is important and up-to-date in their respective degree programs and in their industry – and we do so using methods that are practical and fun. These include, for example, subject-related seminars on the curriculum, but also projects, excursions, specialist lectures, internships and much more. This mix allows students at the FHM to learn much more intuitively and to apply their acquired knowledge more agilely in their jobs.
Management.Skills
Entrepreneurial thinking and action are basic requirements for our students' personal success. That is why management is an integral part of every degree program at the FHM. At the FHM, students learn to think and act like managers in order to be successful in their respective professional fields or even to found and manage companies. We believe that sound business skills are also important, for example, for managing a daycare center, working as a journalist or as a psychological coach with your own practice.
Smart.Skills
We want our students to develop personally during their studies as well. It is not just about them acquiring knowledge in a particular subject area, but also about them being able to present it confidently and lead groups and teams. This includes, for example, team management, moderation and presentation training, as well as self-management and self-marketing. This is how we enable our students to successfully pursue their path as specialists and managers in a constantly changing and increasingly complex world of work and society.
