Supporting Traineeships and Employment Apprenticeship through Micro-credentials
STREAM
In today's working world, microcredentials are becoming increasingly important for documenting specific skills in a rapidly changing work environment. These compact and targeted qualifications offer a flexible way to promote lifelong learning and respond to the demands of digital, green, and inclusive transformation. In vocational education and training in particular, it is crucial to develop new approaches that equip trainers and mentors with the necessary skills to actively support this transformation.
Goals and contents
The STREAM project aims to develop a European framework for microcredentials. It will create a “European Professional Certificate for Practitioners in Inclusive, Digital, and Green Work-Based Learning” that certifies vocational training instructors and mentors in companies who plan and supervise work-based learning (WBL). The focus is on three key areas of competence: inclusive, digital, and green skills. These cover intercultural skills, digital transformation, and environmental sustainability—key areas for the modern world of work.
The project uses an innovative e-learning platform through which participants can learn these skills. Upon successful completion, they receive digital certificates that prove their abilities in the respective areas. This strengthens the transparency and recognition of professional qualifications at the European level. The project thus aims to create a validated microcredentials system that can be applied at national and transnational level. It promotes international cooperation in vocational education and training and strengthens the link between education and the labor market by responding to the needs of modern, sustainable, and digital workplaces.
