Challenge Based Learning in AI Enhanced Digital Transformation Curricular
ASSISTANT
Digital transformation is currently shaping business models, products and services and will certainly also play a decisive role in the development of future operational and social processes in all sectors. European companies urgently need specialists who have skills in handling big data, digital twins, artificial intelligence and robotics and can apply these proactively, creatively and critically to modernize business processes. However, university curricula do not sufficiently reflect the latest requirements for graduates.
Goals and Content
The ASSISTANT partnership has therefore set itself the goal of transforming exemplary curricula at their universities. To this end, the partners will create four new modules that will cover the following topics:
- Big Data
- Artificial Intelligence
- Digital Education
- Robotics
- Internet of Things
Innovative, problem-solving pedagogical scenarios will be developed for these modules, which require active engagement by learners to overcome a challenge. In addition, chatbots (virtual language assistants) will be integrated into these scenarios to support learners in the learning process. The modules will be made available completely online. Ultimately, the completed scenarios will be didactically integrated into existing university curricula, tested and continued.
It is expected that the ASSISTANT project will make an immense contribution to strengthening relevant 21st century skills such as creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, communication and collaboration among students. Digital skills will also be developed and adapted to the demands of the economy.
