Sport is one of the most important aspects of our everyday lives. In recent decades, it has grown nationally and internationally into a significant media, economically relevant and socially central phenomenon.
The exchange relationships between sport, media and business have an impact in terms of structural, organizational and content-related changes – not always without complications. Communication is at the center of this. This includes both independent journalistic mass communication and the strategic communication of athletes, sports organizations or sports companies. We examine these two segments in our Institute for Sports Communication (IfS). We analyze the conditions, effects and parameters of sports communication and help the various interaction partners to be able to exercise their respective roles professionally and in a way that is ethically justifiable in terms of sports or journalism.
