Health & Social Affairs

The research focus Health and Social Affairs at FHM addresses the urgent challenges facing health and social systems in times of demographic change, increasing mental health needs, and workforce shortages. With a strong practice-oriented and interdisciplinary approach, the FHM develops innovative concepts that promote well-being, inclusion, and sustainable support.

Key areas include digital transformation, prevention and mental health, and new models for vulnerable populations. Special attention is given to improving interprofessional collaboration, strengthening resilience and participation, and supporting further development. FHM also works on the elaboration of competence-based training and continuing education for professionals, staff members, vulnerable groups to ensure inclusion, enhance retention, and innovation capacity in this area. By combining applied research with societal impact, FHM contributes to shaping inclusive and future-ready health and social systems — regionally rooted and globally connected.
