INclusive tools to support the employability cycle of Young Individuals With Autism Spectrum Disorder (YIWASD)
ASD-INtoJOB
The employment rate of people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is significantly lower than that of the general population in many countries. This not only leads to economic insecurity, but also hinders the social integration and personal growth of individuals diagnosed with autism. In light of these challenges, the ASD-INtoJOB project aims to break down barriers for young people with ASD in the labor market and pave the way for them to find successful employment.
Goals and contents
The project promotes the creation of an inclusive employment cycle for young people diagnosed with autism, while also supporting companies in developing measures to create autism-friendly working environments. It takes a comprehensive approach that addresses young people diagnosed with autism as well as youth and social workers and employers. The aim is to improve the employability of people diagnosed with autism and to support companies in promoting an inclusive work culture through specific strategies and tools.
Key outcomes of the project include national situation-based reports, a toolkit for the employability of young people diagnosed with autism, training materials for youth and social workers, guidelines for employers and HR managers, and the development of an INtoJOB app. This app will serve as a digital learning and entertainment tool that helps young people diagnosed with autism navigate the employment cycle, particularly when preparing for job interviews and onboarding at companies.
By introducing such measures, ASD-INtoJOB contributes to strengthening social inclusion and improving the employability of young people diagnosed with autism.
