Methodology of Interpretation of European Nature Heritage in Tourism

MIENAT is the acronym for “Methodology of Interpretation of European Nature Heritage in Tourism”. The EU project lasted three years. Eight universities in Europe developed a joint module for a bachelor's or master's program. The University of Applied Sciences (FHM) took over the planning and design of cultural landscapes, botanical gardens and castle gardens as part of the European natural heritage.
The planned study module revolves around the topic of natural heritage and its reinterpretation in the context of tourism. At its core are didactic methods of imparting natural heritage in an experiential way. Specifically, a module was created that can be implemented at all participating higher education institutions and then studied by students at all institutions. The learning materials designed were accompanied by digital solutions (e.g., creating digital presentations, podcasts The module covers topics such as coastal landscapes, regional and national parks, and geoparks, and uses case studies to explain practical implementation and application.
