Field of Research
The idea of sustainability is now widely recognized in society, politics and business. Sustainability is a (survival) condition of humanity and, as an existential responsibility for the future, a global ethical imperative. In order for sustainability to become effective as a globally generalizable ethical principle, it must be practiced in a concrete and exemplary manner, and thus as a model of success, especially in the developed countries of the West. In view of the increasing relevance of corporate sustainability in the perception of customers, lenders and opinion-makers, sustainability has now also become a corporate success factor. The University of Applied Sciences of the Middle Class (FHM) is conducting research in close cooperation with partners in business practice to determine the reliable, comprehensible and practical operationalization and measurability of state, municipal and corporate sustainability, for example with the Sustainability Compass of the FHM Institute Center for Sustainable Governance (CSG).
