Sustainability and eco-friendly habits in the lodging sector

GreenHost

IThe hospitality industry faces the challenge of integrating sustainable practices into its day-to-day operations in order to meet environmental requirements and remain competitive in the long term. The transition to greater sustainability requires changes on the part of employees in particular, who must be involved in the new processes and behaviors.

Goals and contents

The GreenHost project aims to accelerate sustainable transformation in the hospitality industry by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing and implementing ecological practices. The focus is on training employees in these companies. Targeted training programs are designed to strengthen ecological skills in order to establish sustainable behaviors in everyday working life. An innovative approach of the project is the use of gamification to convey learning content in a playful way. This helps employees to engage with sustainable working methods and gradually integrate them into their daily routines. The gamification elements promote the development of a new, pro-ecological mindset that will become firmly established in the companies in the long term. The project also provides best practice examples and digital tools to effectively shape sustainability transformation.
